My First Messenger Bag!!

So - the hubby started a new DJ job last night - and needed a bag to carry everything he needed.

We looked at pictures of messenger bags, and found one he liked that was a pattern I figured I could follow.  I had the main fabric, he picked out coordinating fabrics, and we set off!  It took a couple of hours from start to finish, plus breaks for the kiddo, dinner, etc.

Inside of bag has a zippered pocket.  You can also see the velcro where the flap attaches.

Back of the back - you can see where the handles are attached.

Close up of the fabric.

I like how it turned out!  I made the handle double length, because he wanted it that long and he's tall.  So, on me, it hits my ankles, but for him, it's perfect.  He likes it, I'm happy with to make myself a messenger bag maybe :P

I'm pretty sure I coded my flickr widget right - so now from the main page of my blog here you will be able to see my most recently uploaded photos.  You can also click and be taken to my flickr and see all my photos.  I will be uploading all my crafting pictures there - even ones I don't blog about.  Sometimes I make so many purses I don't want to blog about every one, but I want to share their cuteness with the world! :D

Almost finished sewing area!!!

I'm so excited!  My sewing area is almost finished! Tomorrow morning we are installing canned lights in the ceiling right above my table, so I can better see my projects! :D  How fun!

Two nights ago I made my first attempt at free motion quilting.  I will post pictures later this week, once I finish.

I Love Summer!

Here's some pictures of our gorgeous flowers in bloom!

Another Purse :D

Yes, I love making purses! We redid our living area, and I now have an official sewing nook!! I love it, I even have enough room to cut on my table!  So, now that my sewing machine is back up, I finished this purse up!

It's a pretty cute purse, one handle is longer than the other, and it inserts in the short handle to "close".

I made this for one of my sisters, and I love the purse and fabric so much, I'm making an identical one for myself! :D  That way I don't steal hers!
