Thank you Mrs Confused

Do you guys read Staci's blog??  You should.  She's a great gal - and she responds to all my comments! (And, sometimes, that's a lot of comments!!!)

A while back she won a giveaway, but hadn't claimed it yet, so I emailed her so she wouldn't miss it.  I did this not expecting anything (really, us quilting blog ladies gotta look out for each other) - and look what she sent me!!!

Look at that cute scrappy pincushion! <3 I love it.  It's not pink, but who cares!!! I'm gonna use this baby all the time!! <3

Thanks again Staci!!!

A little something for me

With all the sewing I've been doing for everyone else, I thought I'd take 20 minutes tonight and make myself something. Since I lost my other makeup bag (I'm convinced I will stumble upon it months from now) I made this. Happy early Christmas to me! :)

New Fabric

This past week brought yummy goodies in the mail!  The hubby and I both got fabric. (Have I mentioned he's a new quilter?  He's more focused on art quilts, but I've been bribing him to help me finish Christmas gifts.  Check him out here.)

Here are the yummies we got in the mail:
Lots of pastels for a quilt I have in mind for myself!

These are some for the hubby.

And these.  But I want to steal that chevron print :D

My very first oilcloth
I have yet to make anything with oilcloth, so I've been looking at some websites online with tips, techniques and patterns.  Now that I have this yummy oilcloth, I have to decide what to do with it! I have a yard of it, so maybe I'll be able to squeeze a couple projects out of it!

Finished That quilt Along

Wow! I love how these two babies turned out! Got one mailed to my sister for her son, and the match is now finished and waiting for Christmas for my little guy to open!!
Thanks to That Girl for hosting this lovely quilt along!

Here they are:
Jesse's Quilt

I used teal thread and meandered.

Everett claimed his while Daddy tried to help with pictures.

Everett's finished quilt.

Another close up.

Folded up.  Backing and binding is flannel. Snuggly!

This quilt pattern is so cute! They are the perfect size for the boys (both about 2 years old) to snuggle up on the couch with!

WIP Wednesday

This is my first WIP Wednesday, but maybe when I see what I'm working on become a finish in blogland it will become more real.

This morning before sewing with pins in.
This is what I've been trying to finish up today.  From that girls quilt along - I have these two beauties with the binding sewn on one side, and one of them has the back halfway hand sewn! I'll post new photos when they are finished.  The flannel on the back is nice and warm and snuggly while I hand sew :)

This evening, close up of the back :D

10 Days Until Christmas

Really??  I should be RELAXING at this point - reveling in how amazing I am at planning and coordinating - looking at a tree filled with wrapped gifts.

In reality - I am finishing two projects today.  And have one I haven't even started! (Can I pull my hair out now??)  Add to that - I am waiting for a package and it might be late!!  My husbands family is coming into town this weekend for Christmas.  I have all the gifts done but one! I ordered Dec 4th, and it says it should come on Friday.  I really have my fingers and toes crossed on this one.  I'd hate to have one person out a gift because the post office has a vendetta against me!!

Edited - while I was at the computer whining away, my lovely postal lady delivered the package I needed! Time for a quick prayer of gratitude, and wrapping paper! :D

On a brighter note - I've joined a UFO group (look on the right side and click the pretty pretty button for more info), and I think I'm gonna steal a few minutes and make MYSELF a little mug rug.  Just because I have the fabric, and it might help keep me sane :D

Hope everyone else is ready for Christmas! It really is coming up on us fast!

And, so this isn't a thoroughly depressing post (for me as well as you my wonderful readers) some pictures of things I DID get finished last week.
Reversible Market Tote

Side 2 - I've since cut the hanging string ;P

Close Up of Fabric - I love the motion of the pattern.

Pincushion with Thread Catcher for my friend

Cute fabric! I'm happy she likes it! :D

Christmas Chaos!

This past week I feel like I've got so much done, and read so many blogs, but I'm neglecting sharing! (This is better than when I feel I'm oversharing I suppose...)
Here is some of the past week in pictures :D

Black and white quilted tote

Fancy handles and closure.

Love this bottom fabric!

DVD Cases - holds 3 dvds each side.

Trimming our mini tree - sans pants for the little man.

Christmas decorations I whipped up - with scraps from the napkins I made, seen under the bowl :)

These are his.

No one touch these!

Some smooching may have occured.
Hope everyone's week starts off well - and you have motivation to get things finished :)

Christmas Picture Disasters

Why is it that when you sit down with your kids to take pictures for Christmas - you always have one that looks like this:

When this is more like what I want - except I'm not in it :S
Here's hoping that if you and yours try and capture moments for Christmas you have kids that cooperate
