MMMRR Reveal Day!

Modern Mini Mystery Round Robin Quilt Reveal Day!!!  WOOHOO!!

I am so excited! I will put a better picture up later, but I forgot to get a good one while the sun was shining!  Oopsie.  I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE all the work everyone put into my quilt.
I started with a small 6.5 inch square, you can see it off center, the pink, white and grey block.  Everyone who got it for a turn then made a border, intricate or simple, and passed it onto the next person.  I had so much fun doing this, I'd love to do it again.

Now the hard part - what do I do with it? Do I leave it a mini and hang it up and enjoy it, or make it a quilt and snuggle and enjoy it?  Any opinions?

Thanks for stopping by!

Chain Piecing Meet Mini Quilt

The results of my chain piecing from the other night.  A mini quilt basted and ready to quilt! EEK!!

Love the border focal fabric

My points aren't perfect, buy hey, I'm just excited I am working on things and getting things finished.  I did just get a new 1/4 inch foot, and it's taking some getting used to.  Figured I'd work on something for myself before I made bee blocks for the month! :X
Isn't it cute? It's tiny :O  About 20 inches long.

So much to do!

I am working on Christmas gifts - which means I don't have a lot I CAN show you, because it's a surprise! And I know at least one of the people read this blog >.>  So for now, no pictures.  Just a note to say hi, and ask your opinions!  I am quilting a top, Christmas fabrics, and wondering if I should buy quilters paper and draw holly and ivy berries on it, so I can quilt that, or should just free motion meander it.  Should I be adventurous?  Let me know what you think! :D

Tomorrow I have a craft show.  The biggest one we've (my SIL and I) done to date.  I'm getting nervous! I have been sewing and sewing some cute new things to sell, so haven't been working on anything "quilt" wise.  Mostly small crafty things to sell.  Although - I have a baby quilt planned out I think I will try and sew for the next craft show in 2 weeks.

No pictures today, sorry!, but will have some next time.  Hopefully I'll have a cute quilt finish to show you soon ;)

I love Moda Bake Shop - have you all been there before?  It's great! Free tutorials made with pre-cuts...really, what's not to love?

Right now they have a contest - and you can enter to win by sharing your favorite project at the moment.  Mine is the Wiggly Whimsy Quilt.  Love it! I have fabric set aside to make it - now just to find the time to sew it, between my other projects. Hehe.

September Just 3 With TraceyJay Quilts

I am going to make 3 goals for September, hope I find the time and motivation to finish them, and link up to TraceyJay Quilts for her just 3 September.

1. Start and finish a quilt for my sister's soon to be baby - she is actually at the hospital now having my new niece!!!

2.  Make a pillow for my MIL - I have the pattern and fabric, just need to start it.

3. Finish my Cosmo Bag.  I started this while my SIL was visiting last weekend, but have not made any progress on it.  I have lovely Amy Butler fabric to work with, just need to get my butt in gear.

I have many more projects, but am hoping I can at least get these 3 finished this month.  Wish me luck! :D

Happy And Sad

Can I be both at one time you ask? Yes, yes I can.  I am happy because I started a new job - something I thought I wouldn't have the courage to do a year ago...I am really enjoying being a working woman.  I am sad also because I miss time with the family! I miss being a SAHM, and am adjusting to that.  My little guy starts school two days a week next week, and he is fine with Grandma and his Aunt Tammy babysitting him, so I know he is well taken care of.

Now just to find the time to craft!!!!

On the Shores of Lake Michigan

Our trips wear him out

MIL and her cousin Holly

MIL, me, Hubby

A small lighthouse

My MILS cousin was visiting from Arkansas, and wanted to see the beach/shore of Lake Michigan, so we took a trip.  It's only about 45 minutes away - don't know why I don't go more often, it was beautiful! I'm planning more family trips there this summer :D

Make up Bags

I've been making a ton of makeup bags.  For my stepdaughter and her friends, and my MIL's cousin and her friends....I am going to be a makeup bag professional! :D  Here is the makeup bag for my stepdaughter, she is all about peace, love, and recycling - so she picked out this fabric herself.  She loves going fabric shopping with me if that means she gets something too ;)

She chose a funky color zipper - fun!

Mickey Mouse Blanket

My son is in love with Mickey Mouse - so when we were at Hobby Lobby and he saw this tie blanket, he had to have it.  I am not particularly a fan of tie blankets, having only made one...and I felt that it didn't turn out perfect.  This blanket, however, had lines marked on it for cutting!!!  How convenient.  So the other night my step daughter and I turned on Twilight, and set about cutting this baby up.  Here it is finished.

How do I rotate this photo?? >.>

The best part - he loves it and cuddles it (even though it's warm outside!).  So all in all, it was a great purchase, and a fun project.

Finally some progress!!

I've been terrible on the sewing front, only sewing small things to get my obligations(swaps/bees) for the month done.  Now though ,I did some fun sewing! My sister was over for dinner last night and helped motivate me.  She helped with block placement, gathering them to sew, ironing, etc.  Before I new it a flimsy quilt top was born!

This will be for my niece for Christmas.  Let's hope I can finish it by then. hehe.

On a personal note

For those of you who don't know, I'm LDS.  This past weekend, I was lucky enough to be able to attend the Chicago temple and be sealed to my family.  Here are some pictures from the day. (It was super warm on Saturday.)

Me with all my church lady friends

My son being adorable <3

My eternal family

Afterwards we went out with some friends for dinner, to a bookshop, walked around some.  It was very nice end to the day. <3
