Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays

Merry Merry Christmas!

The sparkly lights below the tree are "presents" with lights inside them!

Notice the train in the picture below the tree - my little guy absolutely loves trains - and has "claimed" this one, even though it is decorative! :)

Cut once, twice, and cut some more...

I've been cutting into some fabric for surprise Christmas presents for family members.  So I've been away in my little hidey hole cutting away.  I love me some good fabric! <3

Christmas goodies.

It's that time of year. Making cookies, fudge, truffles and more! I love it. Yesterday I made some fudge and some cookies for a friend.
Saturday I made peanut clusters and peanut butter balls for a friend of my MIL. And I made chocolate chip cookies for the kiddo. He loves a good chocolate chip cookie!

Fall Mug Rug Swap

Recently I participated in the mug rug swap over at Quilting Gallery.

Fall-Inspired Mug Rugs Swap
I had a BLAST getting to know my partner.  We emailed quite frequently and I feel like I made a new quilty friend!  I went simplistic with my designs, because I wanted them to be cute but usable.  I didn't want the design or quilting to make it unbalanced for holding a mug or cup.

For this swap we had to label the mug rugs, I had a difficult time deciding what to do to label them, but eventually figured it out.  PHEW!  We both decided to make one "halloween" themed, and one fall/thanksgiving themed.  I also included, but forgot to picture, some fabric fat quarters, and a boo crew mini charm pack.  I know it will all be put to good use!

Once I get the pictures off my camera of the goodies I received I will post those!  I got an awesome return gift, and am so thankful for my new friend!

Something Wicked This Way Comes...

It's a Wicked Blog Hop and I'm invited! WooHoo! Do you see me dancing with joy here?  Because I am.

Many thanks to the wonderful Wicked Wendy and Madame Samm for putting this together and cheering us all on.  Witch hats off to you!

Now for my wickedly perfect Halloween projects:

I bought a charm pack of assorted Halloween fabric last year, and never used it. (oops!)  But I found a cut and sew quilt as you go pattern, and knew it was perfect.  I think it went together quite nice.

Another Halloween craft was the candy corn wine bottles you might see popping up everywhere.  It was my first time spray painting (I made a little mess.  *grin* )  but I had oodles of wicked fun.  Now they are sitting on a tray surrounded by real candy corn where everyone can enjoy them.  And thanks to my friend for the wine bottles! ;)

The candy corn bottles are supposed to have an ombre effect - I think they do.  Don't they look tasty? :D

I hope you enjoyed your stop on the hop, and please visit my other wicked friends today:

October ALYoF Finish!!!

Finally a cute little finish to share!  My goal this month for A Lovely Year of Finishes was to finish a baby quilt.  And I did it! Thank goodness, because I've been slacking on finishes and posting them.  Here are some pictures before I washed it:

And some after, in it's crinkly goodness:

The back is an orange flannel, so it's perfectly snuggly.  I love it so much! I love baby quilts, even if I have no express purpose for making them.  Really, they are just too cute. :)

Now to finish my latest project.  No peeking!! :)

Crocheting and Football

My husband loves watching football on Sundays, especially the Packers.  Today, I multi-tasked.  I watched some football with him, and crocheted!  I got some flower scrubbies done for a craft sale I am in this coming Saturday!  I am so happy to have gotten something crafty done with spending time with the hubs. :) Two birds, one stone!!!

They vary in colors - yarn and scrubbies both.  These are just some of them. :)

October A lovely year of finishes

I have this baby quilt that I need to finish for October.  Need, not want.  Really.  So I am making this my goal and forcing myself to do it.  No more stalling!!!  Now that I am feeling better, and am not in pain from my tonsils being ripped out of me (doesn't that sound more dramatic than just a tonsillectomy??) I am good to go on the sewing front.  So here is the little baby ready to be finished:

Tutorial for said quilt here.

Tonsils - who needs em?

So - my doctor has been telling me for quite a while to get my tonsils pulled, and that it will help with my sleep apnea.  I, however, am a wuss, and have been saying no.  Finally timing was right, and I got them pulled last Thursday.  As of today I'm still recovering and spending a lot of time resting.  I miss my sewing machine - I have a cute project ready to start when I feel up to it :)  Will share more later.

Hubby's First Quilt

I'm blessed to have a crafty husband - who enjoys helping me quilt, pick colors - he even presses seams bless his heart!!!  So when he spotted a Van Gogh panel at a quilt shop a while back, he snatched it up.  This quilt is his creation from beginning to end.  He had the vision, he had the ambition, and he did the sewing.  He wanted it to have a V and a G, but making it subtle.  He even hand quilted on this beauty! He spent hours on this quilt, and the best part is - it's staying in our house! I get to use it as a living room quilt! I'm thrilled!!!

Between all the artwork/panel are batiks.  I think it adds a nice touch to the quilt. So this is his first quilt start to finish.  He's made 2 flimsys before :)

Sorry for the shoddy photo, it was foggy this morning when he finished hand sewing the binding, and we really wanted to show it off  ;)

NTT - Needle and Thread Thursday

Since I missed WIP Wednesday, I'm doing NTT this week!

Here is a flimsy I finally finished up - a cute little baby quilt.  The completed blocks were haunting me the last week or so.  Now to figure out how to quilt it.  I have batting and backing for it, but no design in my mind for quilting.  I might just do a fall back and meander it.  Any ideas blog-universe? :)
