5 on Friday

5 Things I'm loving/thinking about, etc this week:

1. My It's a sister thing swap - still need to add the finishing touches before I can mail this beauty off!

2. What I received - too cute! I have to post it later, it's super cute and sweet.

3. Feeling lucky - I won a super cute pattern from Yankee Quilter Patterns, blogging at Fabrics and Flowers.

4. Getting my nails done today, so happy to be pampered for a little bit!

5. Stressing about a breathing test and asthma Dr. appointment this morning...hopefully good results!

WIP Wednesday

I've been working on a baby quilt, and xplus blocks.  The xplus blocks are for a quilt for little 'ol me, with the help of my friends in Stash Bee.

The baby quilt will be put up for sale at my next craft show.  I'm not sold on the layout of the baby quilt, hence just blocks and not a completed top.  Maybe if I leave it and come back to it later tonight or tomorrow, I will like it better. :)

August A lovely year of finishes Goal

Okay, I'm setting a goal.  I know, I know, it's a week into August.  But I really want to finish this.  It's my bee quilt, from a while back, and it's all mine. Stars, and pink...really, what is more Tiffany than that?  So...I'm going to finish this top and get it ready to send to a longarmer.  I just want to finish it by adding more borders - pieced or solids, more stars maybe?  And then figure out a back and get it ready to ship out.  I've decided I don't want to tackle this on my home machine, and it's worth it to me to spend the money to get it perfect.  Then I can snuggle under this beauty!!!

Tying Quilts

Phew - tying quilts can be a lot of work.  I didn't buy a high loft batting, I used the lower loft cotton batting I had on hand, and I think that made it harder to pull the needle through.  But I now have two large quilts all tied, binding sewed down to the front, ready to hand stitch!  Thanks to my lovely helpers tying it, it went by faster than if I had tried to do it myself.

My friend is coming tonight to help me hand sew and catch up, so that will be nice :)  Extra sets of skilled hands are always welcome in my book.

In other news, my "fabric diet" is over I think.  Hubs let me go quilt store shopping the other day, and I picked up some coordinating fabrics for his travel quilt.  I need to lay all that fabric out when the sun is shining so you can see all the pretties!
