Tonsils - who needs em?

So - my doctor has been telling me for quite a while to get my tonsils pulled, and that it will help with my sleep apnea.  I, however, am a wuss, and have been saying no.  Finally timing was right, and I got them pulled last Thursday.  As of today I'm still recovering and spending a lot of time resting.  I miss my sewing machine - I have a cute project ready to start when I feel up to it :)  Will share more later.

Hubby's First Quilt

I'm blessed to have a crafty husband - who enjoys helping me quilt, pick colors - he even presses seams bless his heart!!!  So when he spotted a Van Gogh panel at a quilt shop a while back, he snatched it up.  This quilt is his creation from beginning to end.  He had the vision, he had the ambition, and he did the sewing.  He wanted it to have a V and a G, but making it subtle.  He even hand quilted on this beauty! He spent hours on this quilt, and the best part is - it's staying in our house! I get to use it as a living room quilt! I'm thrilled!!!

Between all the artwork/panel are batiks.  I think it adds a nice touch to the quilt. So this is his first quilt start to finish.  He's made 2 flimsys before :)

Sorry for the shoddy photo, it was foggy this morning when he finished hand sewing the binding, and we really wanted to show it off  ;)

NTT - Needle and Thread Thursday

Since I missed WIP Wednesday, I'm doing NTT this week!

Here is a flimsy I finally finished up - a cute little baby quilt.  The completed blocks were haunting me the last week or so.  Now to figure out how to quilt it.  I have batting and backing for it, but no design in my mind for quilting.  I might just do a fall back and meander it.  Any ideas blog-universe? :)

It's a Sister Thing Swap Rec'd

Eek! I loved "stalking" my partner this summer, and I loved being stalked.  I think my partner got a good vibe of what I liked and who I am.  I can't show what I sent until she receives it, but I can show you what arrived for me.  But before I do - seriously - she made her own packaging!!!  It was so cool.

Here is my loot:

Do you see that lovely pouch?!?  Its pink and floral, and lovely.  The top fabric, the blue polka dot, is the inside.  And then some fabric and thread to top it off.  I was so giddy to open this up and see it.

This swap was hosted here.

My partner blogs here.

Those blogs are both worth checking out! Talented ladies! :D

Thanks again to my partner!  She rocked it!
