Fabriholics Anonymous March Check In

So..I haven't purchased any fabric this month (or Jan or Feb either).  I am SO happy! This means that I've been sticking to my goals.  I have been working slowly, and I mean slowly, on projects I have now.  Some I am realizing I truly do NOT love - but will finish them and gift them or try and sell them.  They are pretty, just not for me.

I am, however, in dire need of white and white on white fabric, so I might have to buy some in April.  I need it to do blocks for my bee month coming up! Eek! It kills me that I will have to buy fabric, but...what must be done must be done ;)

So far I am happy with my lack of purchases.  Makes me happy to use up stuff in my stash.  Then, after my fast, I can purchase a whole new stash!!!

Secret Things and Sunday School

So...I do have sewing I'm doing/working on...just nothing I can show! I think my March ALYoF goal will be out the window...but I will get my other project done.  This has a March deadline's one or the other I'm afraid.  Priorities!

I'm also trying to keep my flickr account more active, with pictures of what I'm working on, my design wall, etc.  But my secret project will not even be posted there until "the great reveal" LOL.  The best part - I am working on it with a good friend, and we are enjoying the bonding time.  Isn't it great to sew/quilt with friends??

In completely random news - I taught the Sunday School lesson for the 3 year old "Sunbeams" at church last week - we were thankful for plants, trees and flowers.  It went okay (I had a little extra time so we sang songs and played a game), but I think the kids are starting to absorb what we say.  I showed them a picture of Jesus when he was a baby, and they remembered what it was about! It's the little things that make me happy.  Oh, and them singing.  Precious moments! :D  Big thanks to my sister for being my backup last week.  She rocked it!

Pillow Time!

Last year in Stash Bee, I had some lovely xplus blocks come my way.  I chose to have them increase the measurements to I had bigger blocks than the above tutorial.  I had an "extra" one that matched my decor  perfectly, so I decided to make it a little bigger and toss a pillow form into it. I have to say, I love love love it!  It matches so well, and it brightens up the space.  Pillows are so fun!

It even matches Hubby's Van Gogh quilt! :D

It has an envelope back, just incase it or the pillow need a good washing.

March ALYoF

So I'm being brave and setting a goal to finish by the end of March! AH!
I want to piece this quilt top:

I still have a few straggler blocks to make, and then trimming and sewing it all together (Not all blocks are pictured here).

It will be gorgeous all together! Just have to play with a layout...

Wish me luck! :D
